This guy was wandering through unsecured areas of Iraq unescorted by the military. Something is fishy about him.

I was fortunate enough to have a chance to watch that documentary (odd, considering I never watch MTV). I wish more people would get to see it and understand that these people aren't just a bunch of savages who loathe every aspect of the western world. Ever since September 11, the media and our own quarter-wit president have been sprouting this bullshit propaganda. Thanks to their portrayal of terrorist groups, they are making the whole country look bad. Hell, the whole region. It's disheartening to see that this tactic is so effective. When you're not part of a specific group of people, it's so easy to shun and condemn them. What if instead of those people cutting off Nick Berg's head, a few of our troops cut off the head of an Iraqi civilian? Would the American people still be disgusted, apalled, and outraged? Of course not. You would hear people saying "Way to stick it to those filthy rag heads!" Of course, if Americans had done it, we would never know about it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It does seem a little suspicious. We don't even know anything about this guy. All we're told is that he was "a great guy who loved to help people" but that's what they always say when someone dies.

Now I have to disagree with that, strongly. I believe the overwhelming majority of Americans would be just as disgusted, appalled and outraged if our troops had done that - I know I would be. Just as the overwhelming majority are angry and embarrassed about the the things we already do know that our troops have done - I know I am!

It would be the same bigots "cheering" that type of behavior as already have a narrow minded and prejudiced view of the people from that region.

And I don't think it's any fairer to judge or label the entire American populous by the statements and beliefs of a vocal group of narrow minded bigots as it is to judge and label the entire people of the Middle East/Islamic faith by the statements and actions of small groups of vocal religious zealots and terrorists.

CBMATT...Thank GOD SOMEONE else saw that documentary on MTV. It was so mind blowing, I thought I might have imagined seeing it...It was the absolute opposite of the 6:00 news.

Slytherin...Today you are correct...Two years ago....I'm not so sure...USA was pretty revenge driven and bloodthirsty then...ready to strike out at the nearest turban.

Never underestimate the collective stupidity and ignorance of the unwashed public.

We have to remember that most or all the board members here are probably the 5th percentile that have a brain and can think beyond what we are programmed to beleive.

It is unfair for me to make assumptions based on what I've seen. But it is still true that many Americans would have the response I described. I realize that, for the most part, people have become a lot more tolerable. However, many people still remain just as ignorant as ever. Saying that the American people would react in such a way is an exaggeration on my part. But there are many people who would have that reaction. I know for a fact that the majority of people in my county would. But I will admit that I was making an unfair generalization.

As a mod, I'll keep my personal views out of this. But I would like to commend everyone for voicing their opinions in an intelligent, well thought out manner. It's good to see that there is still room for actual debate without things degenerating into a flame war. Kudos to all of you.

Yes it's horrible, and makes me sick to be human...
Although because this was on video, everyone is now talking about it...
But no News agency reminds us of the other murders everyday, every hour...

In America every year 11000 people are reported murdered...
In South Africa every year 10000 people are reported murdered...
In Western Countries, every year more than a half a million children disappear!!! That is between the States and Europe!

And yet CNN or BBC and others do nothing to remind people of the whole bigger problem that is moving in our own backyard!!!
